Hello, my name is Mary Jane Murphy. I am the founder and owner of Heritage Doula Co. My company services women in Fort Riley, KS, and surrounding areas. My passion for holistic birth started long before I was even focused on birth itself.

In college, I found myself wanting to feel physically better. I started thinking about what I was putting into my body, as well as how I was physically working my body. The more I learned about health and wellness, the more excited I got about the topic. I knew that I wanted to glorify God in how I treated my body.

A few years later, my husband and I found out we were expecting our first baby. This is when I went all in on everything birth and baby. I watched The Business of Being Born, read Ina May Gaskin’s Guide to Childbirth, and listened to A Shot in the Dark. My passion for having a baby the way God designed was exploding at this point.

During my pregnancy with my son, I decided that I was going to take the passion that the Lord gave me for birth and share it with my community. Women should have access to faith-filled doula care. Birth is the most sacred experience a woman goes through, and they need to have access to doulas of the same mind. I am so grateful to be able to provide service to those around me.

Birth is my passion. I am so grateful for the resources I have been given to learn more about what service as a faith-filled doula looks like. This business and the opportunities it provides are more than I could have ever dreamed.
